About My Private ESOL Lessons
Normally, every lesson starts with a warm-up exercise.
Students may have different levels of English.
Depending on that, I engage them in a short discussion on a particular topic.
For example, we can talk about the weather, your working day, etc.
The next step is revising previously covered material: grammar and vocabulary.
Students may be offered some exercises or short tests.
It helps to make good progress in speaking the language.
It is also important to understand written texts.
Some ESOL lessons are centred around reading texts and building up vocabulary.
Others may be focused on developing listening skills.
I find it important to teach students to ask questions.
This should be a two-way communication.
Thanks to many exercises of this kind, students learn to speak fluently.
